Odisha's Chief Electoral Officer ordered strict verification after approximately 9.8 lakh voter names were allegedly wrongfully deleted during pre-SIR electoral mapping from January-March. Officials received substantial complaints about improper deletions where electors existed and booth officers hadn't conducted required field visits. Around two lakh Form-7 objection applications received after April 2 remain pending. Electoral registration officers must verify 50 percent of objection cases physically.
