What Happened
Hallomajra junction on V-1 Road in Chandigarh has recorded nine fatalities in crashes between 2023 and 2025, making it the city's deadliest accident black spot. Fatal crashes increased from one in 2023 to four each in 2024 and 2025. Other dangerous locations include Kalagram light point with five deaths and Housing Board junction with five deaths. Experts attribute accidents to speeding, signal violations, and poor junction design. Chandigarh recorded 28 deaths in 49 accidents by March 31, 2026.
