What Happened

Artemis II mission photos lack visible space junk due to detection challenges. Millions of debris objects orbit Earth at speeds exceeding 17,500 mph. Most fragments are too small for cameras to capture. High velocities and vast space distances make photography nearly impossible. Highest debris concentration exists in low Earth orbit between 466-621 miles altitude. Despite serious space debris concerns, astronauts rarely encounter objects during missions.
