What Happened
A man accused of sexually assaulting a minor girl in October 2020 was convicted and sentenced to 20 years rigorous imprisonment under POCSO laws. He fled police custody on March 30 while being escorted to court from Vadodara Central Jail. Police recaptured him in Dhule on April 1. The court imposed Rs 50,000 fine based on witness statements, medical and forensic evidence.
