A federal jury found Live Nation operates an illegal monopoly in ticketing and venue bookings. The DOJ and 40 state attorneys general sued in 2024, alleging the 2010 merger with Ticketmaster reduced competition and enabled unfair pricing. A tentative DOJ settlement requires a $280 million fine and divestment of 13 venues. The jury verdict on Wednesday strengthens the case for stricter remedies. Judge Arun Subramanian will determine final consequences.
