What Happened
U.S. Central Command announced a blockade of all ships entering and leaving Iranian ports beginning April 13 at 10 a.m. ET. The blockade targets Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM stated it will enforce the blockade impartially against vessels of all nations. The command said it will not impede navigation through the Strait of Hormuz for non-Iranian port traffic. President Trump previously announced the Navy would blockade the Strait.
