Uptake rises but ‘high’ entry cost limits workers’ access to 5-kg LPG

What Happened

Delhi's 5-kg LPG cylinder demand surged beyond initial allocations for migrant workers and students. Though 1,368 cylinders daily were initially reserved, purchases jumped to 3,705 cylinders on April 16. High upfront costs and limited awareness continue restricting access despite increased uptake. Additional cylinders have been diverted from other categories.
