
Uttar Pradesh Police saved over 450 lives in road accidents during the first quarter using Critical Corridor teams deployed on accident-prone stretches. The Zero Fatality District scheme, launched January 1, operates 573 trained teams across 487 police stations. Teams use modern equipment including speed laser guns and breath analyzers. Compared to 2025, the state recorded 7.43% fewer accidents, 11.55% fewer fatalities, and 8.05% fewer injuries.
