Uber and Nuro have begun testing a premium robotaxi service in San Francisco using Lucid Gravity SUVs equipped with autonomous driving technology. Select Uber employees can request rides through the Uber app. The vehicles operate autonomously with human safety operators as backup. Uber invested $300 million in Lucid and committed to purchasing at least 20,000 Gravity SUVs over six years. Nuro's system uses Nvidia's Drive AGX Thor computer. Production begins late 2026. Public launch is planned later this year.
