What Happened

Turkey's Roketsan, founded in 1988, aims to rank among the world's top 10 defence exporters. Currently ranked 71st globally, the company exports to approximately 50 countries. Western sanctions and embargoes prompted Turkey to develop a domestic defence ecosystem with 4,000 SMEs, achieving over 90 percent local production. In 2025, Turkey's defence industry reported $10 billion in exports. President Erdogan inaugurated new facilities representing a $1 billion investment, with plans for additional $2 billion expansion.
