What Happened
The Jammu-Srinagar national highway remains closed for the third consecutive day due to landslides at multiple locations, including a massive slide at Shalgarhi blocking the Banihal-Qazigund tunnel. Nearly 400 vehicles are stranded. Intermittent rains continue hampering clearing efforts. The Meteorological Department forecasts erratic weather through Wednesday. Two automated weather stations and a seismic laboratory will be established in Doda and Kishtwar districts.
