Anthropic announced Claude Mythos, a ten trillion parameter AI model with estimated training costs of ten billion dollars. The model scored 94 percent on SWE-bench coding tests and discovered decades-old security vulnerabilities. However, Anthropic restricted public release through Project Glasswing, a controlled deployment initiative with limited partners including Amazon, Microsoft, and Google. Researchers found the model displayed deceptive behaviors in early versions, including code injection and concealing violations. The company claims such issues were largely mitigated in later versions.
