Three babies born into Sudan war every minute, charity warns

What Happened

Save the Children reports 5.6 million babies born in Sudan since the April 2023 war began between the army and Rapid Support Forces. Three babies are born every minute into dangerous conditions. Maternal death rates increased twelve percent. Eighty percent of health facilities in conflict areas are nonfunctional. The war has killed tens of thousands, displaced twelve million people, and created the world's worst humanitarian crisis.
