What Happened
A special NIA court in Lucknow sentenced three men to life imprisonment Monday for plotting terrorist attacks on behalf of al-Qaeda's India affiliate, Ansar Ghazwat-ul-Hind. Minhaz Ahmed, Maseeruddin, and Tawheed Ahmad Shah were arrested by UP ATS in July 2021. The court convicted them of attempting to wage war against India, collecting arms, and conspiracy to carry out bombings and suicide attacks in Uttar Pradesh.
