Iran's Ambassador to India Mohammad Fathali assured safe passage for Indian vessels through the Strait of Hormuz, calling India a reliable partner. The Indian LPG tanker Jag Vikram became the ninth Indian ship to transit the waterway. However, US President Donald Trump announced a naval blockade on ships entering or leaving the strait following failed talks, threatening interception of vessels paying transit tolls to Iran.
