Syria took full control of all military bases where US forces were stationed after the final American convoy departed Qasrak air base in Hasakah on Thursday. The withdrawal ends a US military presence that began in 2014 fighting ISIS alongside Kurdish fighters. Syria's government says the handover reflects successful integration of Kurdish forces into national structures. The transfer was coordinated with the US, which stated it completed a deliberate transition. Syrian President Ahmed al-Sharaa met with senior Kurdish leaders in Damascus.
