Punjab teacher unions have condemned the government's decision to shift teachers from low-enrollment middle schools to higher-enrollment institutions. The Directorate of School Education authorized District Education Officers to rebalance pupil-teacher ratios. Schools with 1-30 students will retain two teachers, 31-60 students three teachers, and 61-90 students four teachers. Union leaders claim this reduces subject-specific instruction and violates education rights. They demand order withdrawal and new teacher recruitment.
