What Happened
Somalia's Ministry of Defence reported killing 27 al-Shabab fighters in a large-scale operation in Jubbaland with international partner support, including air strikes. The operation targeted Jilib, Xagar, and Afmadow districts in Lower and Middle Jubba regions. Troops seized weapons including machine guns, RPGs, AK-47s, and landmines. The government continues pursuing remaining al-Shabab elements to ensure civilian safety and security.
