
A boat carrying tourists capsized in Yamuna river in Vrindavan, Mathura on Friday afternoon. At least six people died and several remain missing. District officials confirmed all tourists were from Punjab. Sixteen to seventeen people were rescued. The boat carried over two dozen tourists. Rescue operations involve SDRF, NDRF teams and approximately fifty local divers. Eyewitnesses reported violent swaying caused by gusty winds before collision with pontoon bridge.
