What Happened
Italy's Jannik Sinner defeated defending champion Carlos Alcaraz 7-6(5) 6-3 in Sunday's Monte Carlo Masters final. The 24-year-old claimed his first clay Masters title and reclaimed the world number one ranking. Sinner achieved the 'Sunshine Double' and Monte Carlo in one season, becoming only the second player after Novak Djokovic in 2015 to accomplish this feat.
