What Happened
Union Home Minister Amit Shah released the BJP's election manifesto for West Bengal Assembly polls in Kolkata. The party promises Rs 3,000 monthly assistance for women and unemployed youth, Rs 21,000 for pregnant women, free bus travel for women, and implementation of the 7th Pay Commission within 45 days. Shah also promised an AIIMS, IIT, and IIM for North Bengal, a Uniform Civil Code, and removal of illegal encroachments. Elections scheduled for April 23 and 29.
