
Assam, Puducherry, and Kerala held Assembly elections Thursday with record turnouts. Assam recorded 85.38%, Puducherry 89.83%, and Kerala 78.03%. These were the highest-ever turnovers for Assam and Puducherry. Women voters participated more in all three regions. The Election Commission cited peaceful polling across 126 Assam seats, 140 Kerala seats, and Puducherry constituencies. Vote counting scheduled May fourth.
