What Happened
India's first Vande Bharat Sleeper train maintenance depot is under construction at Bhagat Ki Kothi, Rajasthan, under the Technology Partner Scheme. The North Western Railway project costs Rs 360 crore and includes a 600-metre track supporting 24-coach maintenance. Phase 1, expected June 2026, covers 1,200 square metres with inspection bays, office, and training facilities.
