Punjab to launch Rs 1,500 monthly aid scheme for women today, benefit to be transferred from July 1

Punjab begins registering women for Mawan Dhiyaan Satkar Yojana scheme Tuesday. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann will launch the exercise from Jalandhar. Eligible women receive Rs 1,000 to Rs 1,500 monthly from July 1 through direct bank transfer. Pilot registration starts April 15 in nine constituencies, expanding May 15 statewide. Applicants need Aadhaar card, voter ID, and bank passbook. Estimated annual cost exceeds Rs 10,000 crore.
