What Happened

Pune Metropolitan Region Development Authority planted 5,500 trees to compensate for 1,305 trees affected by Metro Line-3 construction between Maan-Hinjewadi and Shivajinagar. The authority felled 557 trees and transplanted 748 others. All new saplings achieved 100% survival rate. Trees were planted across multiple city locations including forest areas and institutional grounds. Each tree has a QR code providing species and environmental benefit information. Approximately 3,000 transplanted trees in Hinjewadi Phase-2 now flower and bear fruit.
