What Happened
The Uttarakhand High Court directed the Nainital Nagar Palika Parishad to pay Rs 2.41 lakh to filmmaker Kedar Ghati within four weeks. Ghati completed a documentary film on the Maa Nanda Devi Mahotsav in September 2023 but remained unpaid for nearly two and a half years. Justice Pankaj Purohit accepted the civic body's undertaking to settle the outstanding bill promptly.
