What Happened

North Korea conducted a three-day weapons testing campaign starting Monday, including ballistic missiles armed with cluster-bomb warheads mounted on Hwasong-11 missiles. South Korea detected multiple launches traveling 240-700 kilometers Wednesday. The tests also included anti-aircraft weapons and electromagnetic systems. North Korea claims the cluster warheads can destroy 6.5-7 hectare areas. The US and Japan said the launches posed no immediate threat. Kim Jong Un has accelerated nuclear missile development since 2019.
