
Maharashtra's state government approved the Rs 18,130.55 crore Mumbai Metro Line 5 and 5A project connecting Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Ulhasnagar. The project includes 17 stations across 24.9 kilometers. Phase 1 from Thane to Bhiwandi spans 11.9 kilometers with six elevated stations at Rs 6,741.34 crore. Phase 2 from Bhiwandi to Kalyan covers 10.475 kilometers with six stations at Rs 7,326.13 crore, featuring one underground station and a double-decker integrated metro-flyover section.
