Maharashtra's state government approved the Rs 18,130.55 crore Mumbai Metro Line 5 and 5A project connecting Thane, Bhiwandi, Kalyan, and Ulhasnagar. The project includes 17 stations across 24.9 kilometers. Phase 1 from Thane to Bhiwandi spans 11.9 kilometers with six elevated stations at Rs 6,741.34 crore.
