Over 7 crore workers under MGNREGS will not receive wage increases until the new Viksit Bharat-Guarantee for Rozgar and Ajeevika Mission (VB-G RAM G) Act is implemented. The Centre has not released revised wage notifications for February-March, breaking a 13-year pattern. The Ministry of Rural Development informed states that NREGS wages for 2026-27 will be notified only when the replacement scheme becomes effective. Previous fiscal year rates continue meanwhile.
