The Madhya Pradesh High Court set aside an election tribunal's June 2023 order that voided the 2022 Multai Municipal Council president election. Justice Vivek Jain criticised the tribunal for 'moral policing' and restored BJP candidate Neetu Parmar as president. The tribunal had questioned cross-voting by Congress councillors. The high court ruled the tribunal overstepped by attempting to remedy perceived wrongdoing rather than assessing election validity based on legal grounds.
