Jyothish V M, a 31-year-old product designer from Bengaluru, built NammaKasa portal in four days to combat illegal garbage dumping. The no-login, no-app platform allows residents to report garbage incidents instantly. As of Saturday, 1,249 incidents were reported with only seven resolved. Ward-boundary mapping proved technically challenging given Bengaluru's 243 irregularly-divided wards.
