
The Supreme Court declined bail for suspended Punjab Deputy Inspector General Harcharan Singh Bhullar, arrested by CBI on corruption charges. The bench permitted him to approach the Punjab and Haryana High Court again if trial doesn't commence within two months. Bhullar was arrested October 16, 2025, accused of accepting bribes through intermediaries. Raids recovered over Rs 7 crore in cash. A disproportionate assets case is also under investigation. The Home Ministry granted prosecution sanction under Prevention of Corruption Act provisions.
