What Happened
Nine members of a Kerala tourist group died Friday when their van plunged off a hairpin bend on Valparai ghat road in Coimbatore district, Tamil Nadu. The vehicle fell between hairpin bends 13 and 9 on the dangerous mountain section. Seven women and a boy aged twelve were among deceased. Three critically injured received advanced treatment at Coimbatore hospital.
