
Reed Hastings, Netflix co-founder and chairman, will leave the company's board when his term expires in June. Hastings stated he is stepping aside to focus on philanthropy and other pursuits. Under his leadership since 1999, Netflix transformed from a DVD-by-mail service into a global streaming pioneer. The company reported $12.25 billion in first-quarter revenue, up 16.2% year-over-year, with net income rising 83% to $5.28 billion.
