What Happened
Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis announced completion timelines for Mumbai Metro projects. Metro Line 9 connecting Dahisar East to Mira Bhayandar will be fully operational by December 2024. Metro Line 2B, a 23.45-km east-west corridor from DN Nagar to Mankhurd, will be completed by 2027. Fadnavis inaugurated partial stretches on both lines and launched the Thane-Borivali twin tunnel project, expected to reduce travel time from 90 minutes to 15 minutes by May 2028.
