Mumbai gets it most futuristic commute yet: Six Seats, 40 kmph, No Driver Mumbai’s Pod Taxi Is Actually Happening

What Happened

Mumbai held the groundbreaking ceremony for its Automated Rapid Transit System (ARTS) pod taxi project in Bandra-Kurla Complex. The first phase will operate on a 3.36-km route with eight stations. Driverless pods carry six passengers at 40 kmph with 15-second intervals. By 2031, the network will expand to 22 stations covering 8.85 km. Sai Green Mobility operates the system under a public-private partnership model. The fare is ₹21 per kilometer.
