What Happened

Pune's cycling race will expand significantly in 2027, featuring a 950-km route, more than double the 437-km first edition. The Union Cycliste Internationale upgraded the race from UCI 2.2 to UCI 2.1 status. Over Rs 700 crore will fund road development across multiple agencies. The six-stage event begins Republic Day 2027. Two Indian teams will participate alongside higher-level international competitors.
