An LPG cylinder exploded in the basement of Kidzee preschool in Wagholi, Pune on Sunday around 6:15 pm. The school was closed, so no casualties occurred. Fire officials attributed the blast to an electrical short circuit that ignited inverter batteries. A smaller cylinder, improperly stored on the ground floor instead of the kitchen, exploded. Fire brigade controlled the fire within fifteen minutes. Furniture sustained damage. Police are investigating the incident.
