What Happened
Nithin Raj R L, a 22-year-old Dalit medical student at Kannur Dental College in Kerala, died after falling from a building on Friday. Police say he faced caste discrimination at college and received 96 intimidating calls and messages from an online loan app on the day before his death. He had borrowed Rs 13,500 in February and was unable to repay Rs 19,000 demanded. Two faculty members have been charged. The university ordered an investigation.
