What Happened

Jammu and Kashmir's Boys Higher Secondary School in Bhaderwah, established in 1920, is being redeveloped into a heritage institution under the 'Prerna' scheme. The government allocated Rs 3.06 crore for the project. Additional Deputy Commissioner Sunil Kumar Bhutyal laid the foundation stone. The school, originally called Amar Singh High School, was the first high school in Chenab valley. Principal Kailash Chander, whose grandfather and father also attended, called it a milestone.
