Italy to host a Wimbledon tuneup on grass starting in 2028 which could be played on the San Siro field

What Happened

Italy's tennis federation purchased rights to a 250-level ATP tournament from Brussels, relocating it to Italy beginning June 2028. The event may be played on grass courts at Milan's San Siro stadium. Federation president Angelo Binaghi said northern Italy will likely host it for climate reasons. Italy already hosts the ATP Finals in Turin through 2030 and Davis Cup Finals in Bologna through next year.
