What Happened

Iran-Israel conflict and Strait of Hormuz closure since February 28 doubled urea prices within two months. IPL's April tender received bids at $935-959 per tonne versus RCF's February bids at $508-512 per tonne. DAP prices rose from $720 to $865-925 per tonne. Sulphur and ammonia prices similarly surged, disrupting India's fertiliser supply chain.
