Intel signs on to Elon Musk’s Terafab chips project

What Happened

Intel will partner with SpaceX and Tesla to build a new U.S. semiconductor factory in Texas. Intel stated it will help design, fabricate, and package chips to produce 1 TW/year of compute for AI and robotics. Chip fabrication typically costs over $20 billion and takes years. Intel seeks anchor customers for its foundry business. Intel's stock rose 3% on the announcement.
