
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin warned the Union government against a proposed delimitation Constitutional amendment scheduled for Parliament discussion on April 16. Stalin alleged the government intends to bulldoze the amendment without proper state consultation. He stated Tamil Nadu would launch massive agitation if state interests are harmed or southern states face disproportionate effects. Stalin noted southern states followed population control measures as advised by the Centre. He said Tamil Nadu convened a Joint Action Committee meeting with affected state chief ministers and political party leaders in Chennai.
