
The government introduced three Bills for Parliament's April session to increase Lok Sabha seats from 550 to 850 based on 2011 Census population data. Women's reservation of one-third seats will apply after delimitation for 15 years. A Delimitation Commission will redraw boundaries. Kerala and Tamil Nadu will lose seats while Rajasthan, Bihar, and Uttar Pradesh gain significantly. The Bills also extend provisions to Delhi, Jammu-Kashmir, and Puducherry.
