Google's AI Overviews, launched in 2024, provide artificial intelligence-generated answers at the top of search results. Analysis by AI startup Oumi found 91% accuracy with Gemini 3 technology in February, up from 85% with Gemini 2 in October. However, with over 5 trillion annual searches, this means tens of millions of erroneous answers hourly. More than half accurate responses lacked complete website support, complicating verification. Google disputes the analysis methodology.
