What Happened
Tamil Nadu's Home Secretary K. Manivasan appointed IPS officer A.T. Durai Kumar as Director in-charge of the Vigilance and Anti-Corruption department. This followed the Election Commission stripping DGP Sandeep Mittal of the post and transferring incumbent Dheeraj Kumar. An initial order by DGP Sandeep Rai Rathore asking Mittal to hold additional charge was reversed. Durai Kumar will serve until a regular posting order is issued.
