
Defense startup Hermeus raised $350 million, comprising $200 million in equity and $150 million in debt, achieving a $1 billion valuation. Khosla Ventures led the equity round, with participation from Canaan Partners, Founders Fund, In-Q-Tel, and RTX Ventures. The Los Angeles-based company develops unmanned hypersonic aircraft using modified Pratt & Whitney F100 engines. Hermeus recently flew an F-16-sized demonstrator and plans supersonic iterations. The startup employs nearly 300 people and aims for Mach 5 capability.
