Hack at Anodot leaves over a dozen breached companies facing extortion

What Happened

Hackers from ShinyHunters group breached Anodot, a business monitoring software company, on April 4, stealing data from at least twelve customers. The group stole authentication tokens allowing access to cloud-stored data and is demanding ransom to prevent publishing the information. Rockstar Games confirmed limited non-material data was accessed. Snowflake, a cloud storage provider, blocked affected Anodot customers after detecting unusual activity. ShinyHunters targets companies storing large datasets using social engineering tactics.
