What Happened
Gujarat's Principal Chief Conservator of Forests Anirudh Pratap Singh was transferred to managing director of Gujarat Forest Development Corporation Limited. His immediate junior Dr Jaipal Singh assumed temporary charge as in-charge PCCF. Four other Indian Forest Services officers were also transferred. Singh, from 1990 batch, held the position since January last year. Sources suggest the move may strengthen Jaipal Singh's candidacy for central government's director general forest position.
